Yesterday, I had the pleasure of attending and participating in the Bay Area Climate Collaborative (BACC) press conference. Mayors from Los Gatos, Campbell, San Jose and Mill Valley, California announced an agreement to add 38 Mitsubishi i-MiEVs, all-electric compact cars, to their municipal fleet.

The collaborative contacted Active to develop an affordable way for the cities to use electric cars and worked with Mike Albert Fleet Solutions, a fleet management firm in Cincinnati, to negotiate the leases.

We’re pretty excited to be part of a program to make the Bay Area the “electric vehicle capital of the U.S.” In these economic times, when cities are asked to do more with less, this was a terrific program for all.
